This tip helps you get several things done simultaneously on your BlackBerry.

This is probably the least-known but most useful tip!

With this tip you can:

- Check your calendar while on a phone call

- Check or enter a new address while on a call

- Add a memo item while on a call

All of which help you remember what you heard on the call and you never have waste time writing on paper to re-enter later. Just type it now – right on your BlackBerry!

Here’s what you do:

1. Press the “ALT” key (Lower left most key on your BlackBerry - half-moon on standard keyboard BlackBerry or up/down arrow on 7100 Series)

2. While holding the “ALT”, press the “ESC” key or “Back” key under the trackwheel on the side.

3. You’ll see a list of programs running (either in Icon or List), just select what you want to open and let go of ESC.

This tip helps you change the fonts to make your BlackBerry to make easier to read.

Here’s what you do:

1. Go to the options menu on your BlackBerry (for most this is the wrench icon - on a 7100 series it is found under the settings icon) and press in the trackwheel.

2. Choose the "screen and keyboard" option and press in the trackwheel

3. You will see Font Family - roll the trackwheel down to the font family that is displayed (probably BBMilibank) - to see the other options available press down on the ALT key (this is the half moon key on the bottom left of the keyboard). It will pop open all the choices. Pick one.

4. Now roll down to the Font Size and follow the same process - size 10 or 11 usually work the best, but for some that need it bigger certain fonts go all the way up to size 14.

5. Now roll down to the Font Style and change that to BOLD - it is the easiest to see.

6. Now roll on down to BackLight Timeout and change that to 2 minutes - this will help keep you light on longer.

Final step press in the trackwheel and SAVE your changes. You will see that your BlackBerry is mush easier to use now... you can always go back and choose different options till you find the one that works best for you.

This tip helps you get more out of your BlackBerry Battery.

- Keep the BlackBerry in it’s cradle or in its case as much as possible (this turns off the screen)

- Plug your BlackBerry into your USB cable on your computer (this charges it – even when your computer is not plugged into the wall!)

- If you’re out of radio coverage for a long time, turn OFF your radio (otherwise the BlackBerry will work hard to try to re-establish radio coverage frequently – really draining the battery.)

- Charge your BlackBerry every night, especially if you are a phone user.

- Use the Auto ON and OFF feature found in the options menu to auto"magic"ally turn your BlackBerry OFF at a given time and back ON at a given time - using this will allow you to forget about turning it off at night.

This tip helps you use appreciations to populate full words, sentences or even paragraphs on the BlackBerry.

You already have a very small keyboard - why type more than you need to - this tip will save you tons of time.

Here’s what you do:

1. Start by going to the options menu and choose "autotext". You will notice that there are several words already loaded on the BlackBerry to help you speed up your typing.

2. Click the trackwheel and choose "NEW" to create a new autotext

3. You will see a "REPLACE" and a "WITH" area - in the replace area type you shortcut letters - start with your initials IE: js / now in the with area type your full name IE: John Smith

4. Note: You will not be able to capitalize in the replace area - this is designed to be fast so lower case is needed - you can capitalize in the with area and you should.

5. Once you have the replace and the with filled click the trackwheel and SAVE the changes - now where you type your initials and hit the SPACE BAR (this populates it) you will see your full name.

Use autotext as often as you can - some other great ones are: w = with, u = you
